NTUC Healthcare was established on 1st August 1992 in response to workers’ concerns over rising healthcare costs. Today, NTUC Healthcare Co-operative Ltd is the largest healthcare cooperative in Singapore. It currently operates 36 UNITY pharmacies, 13 dental surgeries and 7 medical clinics island-wide.
NTUC Healthcare’ mission is to help moderate the cost of healthcare in Singapore through promoting and providing quality healthcare services at affordable rate. Our focus is on being consistently innovative so as to provide the cutting-edge in primary healthcare services to our workers and to build on the strong reputation that we have acquired in Singapore. The services offered by our pharmacies, dental surgeries and medical clinics have become a hallmark of quality.
The Cooperative continued to play a significant role in fulfilling its social objectives. Unity pharmacy continued to ensure that the basket of commonly used products is lowest-priced. NTUC Denticare and NTUC Medicare fees scheduled continued to be lower than the guidelines set by the Singapore Dental Association and the Singapore Medical Council respectively.
Through our associate company, NHC Health resources, we continue to increase our share of the rehabilitation equipment and surgical supplies market. Another associate company, Origins Healthcare, has established itself as the largest supplier of organic and health food supplements. It represented premier brands from USA and Australia.
Shareholders, union members and workers in general can expect to see a steady growth in the core business activities of the Co-operative. More Unity pharmacies, dental and medical clinics at strategic heartlands will be added to better serve our client base.
